/the right patient
We build report portals that take signed reports from your lab system and deliver them to patients and doctors through verified access. Every download is logged, links expire, and your staff stop forwarding PDFs from their phones.
↓Each loop releases a different report: signed, sent, unlocked with a one-time code, logged, and the link starts to expire
Heard yourself say this?Count how many fit.
Five things owners tell us before a project like this starts. Every one you recognise adds a tally mark.
Tap the lines you have said this year.
One fits. Worth a short call to see if Lab report portals is the right fix.
Two fit. A short call will tell you whether to do this now or later.
Three fit. This is probably worth planning soon.
Four fit. You are losing time to this already.
All five. This page was written for you.
Lab report portals,explained without jargon.
What is a lab report portal?
One idea at a time. Each sheet lays over the last, so the picture builds up. Tap a number to jump.
It works like a bank locker room: the report sits in its own box, and only someone with the right key and a recorded visit can open it.
It is a secure place where patients and referring doctors get reports once your lab releases them.
The portal picks up the authorised report from your lab software, sends the patient a message, and asks for a one-time code before showing it.
Patients can see past reports too, and doctors can see reports for patients who named them.
Your lab keeps control, because nothing appears until your pathologist or radiologist has signed it off.
Six parts, all handed over to you.
Your Lab report portals work is made of these six parts. The comb lights each one in turn; tap a cell to read it.
Release-triggered delivery
The portal picks up a report only after it is authorised in your LIMS, then sends the patient a WhatsApp or SMS message that the report is ready.
OTP-verified patient access
Patients open reports with their registered phone number and a one-time code, with family members able to view reports booked under the same number.
Referring doctor portal
Doctors log in to see reports of patients who named them, with search by patient name, date and test, and alerts when new reports are released.
Report history and trends
Patients see their past reports in one place, and repeat tests such as HbA1c or thyroid profiles can be shown side by side as reported values.
Access logs and link expiry
Every view and download is recorded with time and user, links expire after a period you choose, and staff can revoke access if a report was sent in error.
Large imaging files
For imaging centres, report PDFs come with a secure image viewer link or DICOM download for doctors, so heavy files do not travel by WhatsApp.
- Release-triggered delivery
- OTP-verified patient access
- Referring doctor portal
- Report history and trends
- Access logs and link expiry
- Large imaging files
Picture a business like yours,in three frames.
A typical situation, not a client story. The line in each frame goes from tangled to straight as the work is done.
A pathology lab in Lucknow with twelve collection centres
Four legs of one relay, about 8 weeks, start to finish.
Each leg is sized by how long it usually takes. Watch the baton go round, or tap a leg to jump there.
Four factors, four corners of your project.
Each corner grows when that factor is on the larger side. The outline is your project's footprint, and the quote follows it.
A compact project. The smallest footprint for your quote.
Mostly compact, with one area that needs more work.
A balanced build. Half the factors on each side.
A larger build. Most areas need extra work and time.
The full footprint. Every factor on the larger side.
The question we hear most:Secure link only, or full patient login?
The board turns through each option. Tap one to hold it and read the trade-off.
Most of your patients visit once or twice a year and just want today's report quickly.
Patients do not get a long-term history unless they keep the files themselves.
You serve many repeat patients, such as those with diabetes, thyroid or kidney conditions, and want them to return to you.
It needs account recovery for changed phone numbers and more care around family access.
Your LIMS or HMIS vendor supports ABDM and you want patients to pull reports into their ABHA-linked health record app.
The linking depends on your vendor's ABDM integration and patient consent flows, which adds steps and time.
Four things that trip a project, and the fix we fit instead.
Each fuse is a mistake we see often. Watch it blow and get replaced, or tap a fuse to read the fix.
Sending reports as open PDF attachments
Send a notification with a verified link instead of the file, so the report is not left in chat backups or forwarded easily.
Releasing reports before authorisation
Let the portal fetch only reports marked as authorised in the LIMS, never drafts or pending ones.
Relying on the portal for critical values
Keep your existing process of calling the doctor or patient directly for critical results, and treat the portal as an extra channel.
No plan for corrected reports
Version every report, mark amended ones clearly and tell anyone who opened the earlier version.
Lab report portals questions,answered plainly.
Search the answers. If yours is missing, ask us on the call.
Getting startedDoes the portal work with our lab software?
Most LIMS products can export authorised reports through an API, a database view or a watched folder. We check with your vendor in the first week, and if no export exists, staff can upload signed PDFs instead.
Getting startedWill this affect our NABL accreditation?
The portal changes how reports are delivered, and the report content comes from your LIMS as it is today. Your quality manager should confirm that the delivery process fits your NABL documentation, so check with your adviser.
Getting startedHow is patient data protected?
Reports are stored encrypted in accounts in your name, access needs an OTP or login, links expire and every view is logged. We design consent and retention with your adviser to follow the DPDP Act 2023 and its rules.
Getting startedCan patients see reports in their ABHA app?
This is possible when your LIMS or HMIS vendor is integrated with ABDM as a health information provider. We work with your vendor on that link, and the patient approves sharing through ABDM's consent flow.
Cost & timeHow long does it take and what does it depend on?
A portal with staff uploads can be ready in about four weeks. Automatic LIMS integration, doctor logins and imaging files take longer, mostly depending on how quickly your vendor gives access.
OwnershipWho owns the reports and the portal?
You do. Storage, messaging accounts, domain and code are all in your organisation's name, and you can export everything if you change providers.
Getting startedCan corporate clients see their employees' reports?
Only with each employee's clear consent and only for the tests agreed. We can build a separate corporate view with limited access, and you should confirm the consent wording with your adviser.
Getting startedWho looks after the portal once it is live?
On a care plan we monitor report delivery failures, renew certificates, apply security updates and review access logs with you every quarter. Delivery problems are handled ahead of other requests.
