Startups & SaaS · Fractional tech team

You get an experienced technical lead and engineers for a set number of hours each month. They make and write down the decisions a CTO would, build where needed, and help you hire your own team.

In plain words

Fractional tech team,explained without jargon.

What is a fractional tech team?

One idea at a time. Each sheet lays over the last, so the picture builds up. Tap a number to jump.

Think of it like this

It is like having a family doctor who knows your history, checks in regularly and is the first call when something goes wrong.

01 / 04

It is senior technical help you rent by the month instead of hiring full time.

02 / 04

A lead engineer joins your planning, reviews code and architecture, sets up security and deployment basics, and steps in on hard problems.

03 / 04

Engineers can add build capacity in busy months and scale down in quiet ones.

04 / 04

The aim is to keep your product healthy until you are ready for, and can find, the right full-time people.

What you receive

Six parts, all handed over to you.

Your Fractional tech team work is made of these six parts. The comb lights each one in turn; tap a cell to read it.

An example

Picture a business like yours,in three frames.

A typical situation, not a client story. The line in each frame goes from tangled to straight as the work is done.

How it runs

Four legs of one relay, about 2 weeks to get going.

Each leg is sized by how long it usually takes. Watch the baton go round, or tap a leg to jump there.

What shapes the quote

Four factors, four corners of your project.

Each corner grows when that factor is on the larger side. The outline is your project's footprint, and the quote follows it.

Footprint

A compact project. The smallest footprint for your quote.

The decision

The question we hear most:Fractional team, full-time CTO or freelancers?

The board turns through each option. Tap one to hold it and read the trade-off.

Pick this when

You need senior judgement and some build capacity, with workload that changes month to month.

The trade-off

Part-time people are less immersed in your business than a full-time co-founder.

Common mistakes

Four things that trip a project, and the fix we fit instead.

Each fuse is a mistake we see often. Watch it blow and get replaced, or tap a fuse to read the fix.

Trips when

Letting a developer hold the only admin access

How we avoid it

Keep owner access to GitHub, cloud, domain and payment accounts with the company and grant others the least access they need.

Getting startedHow is a fractional tech team billed?

You pay a monthly fee for an agreed block of hours, billed monthly and cancellable anytime. We track hours openly and flag early if you are heading over your block. The size of the block depends on how much build work you need.

Getting startedHow quickly can you start?

Usually within 1 to 2 weeks of agreeing the plan. The first two weeks focus on a health check so we work on the right things.

Getting startedWill you work with our existing developers or agency?

Yes. We often review and guide freelancers, in-house juniors or another agency, and we keep feedback specific and respectful. Your team keeps ownership of their work.

OwnershipWho owns the code and documents you produce?

Your company does. Everything goes into your repositories and workspace, and the contract assigns IP to your company. We also check that past contributors' work is properly assigned, which investors often ask about.

Getting startedCan you help us prepare for SOC 2 or GDPR questions from US and EU customers?

We can set up the technical controls, write process notes and help answer security questionnaires. A SOC 2 report comes from an independent auditor, and GDPR or DPDP Act obligations should be confirmed with your adviser.

Getting startedDo you sign NDAs and work in our time zone?

Yes to both. We are based in India and overlap fully with Indian working hours, with some overlap for calls with US or European customers when needed.

Getting startedCan you represent us in investor technical due diligence?

We can prepare the documents, join the call and answer technical questions alongside you. Statements about your business and plans stay with the founders.

Getting startedWhat happens when we hire a full-time CTO?

We hand over the decision log, access and walkthroughs, and stay for a transition period if useful. Then we step back or continue in a smaller role the new CTO chooses.
