B2B ordering,explained without jargon.
What is B2B ordering online?
One idea at a time. Each sheet lays over the last, so the picture builds up. Tap a number to jump.
It is like giving each trade customer their own order counter with their rate card already pinned up.
B2B ordering lets your business customers, such as retailers, dealers or institutions, place wholesale orders online.
Each buyer logs in and sees their own prices, minimum quantities and payment terms.
They can reorder past items, upload a list or request a quote for large volumes.
Your team approves, invoices and dispatches without retyping anything.
Heard yourself say this?Count how many fit.
Five things owners tell us before a project like this starts. Every one you recognise adds a tally mark.
Tap the lines you have said this year.
One fits. Worth a short call to see if B2B ordering is the right fix.
Two fit. A short call will tell you whether to do this now or later.
Three fit. This is probably worth planning soon.
Four fit. You are losing time to this already.
All five. This page was written for you.
Six parts, all handed over to you.
Your B2B ordering work is made of these six parts. The comb lights each one in turn; tap a cell to read it.
Company accounts and roles
Buyer companies with several users, such as an owner who approves and staff who draft orders. Each company has its own addresses and GSTIN on file.
Customer-specific pricing
Price lists by customer group, region or individual account, including volume breaks. Buyers only ever see their own rates.
Bulk and quick order tools
A fast order form by SKU, CSV upload and one-click reorder from past orders. These suit buyers who know exactly what they want.
MOQs, packs and credit terms
Minimum quantities, carton multiples and credit limits enforced at checkout. Orders on credit can need approval before dispatch.
Quotes and negotiations
A request-for-quote flow for large or custom orders, with your team responding inside the portal. Accepted quotes convert straight into orders.
Accounting sync
Orders, invoices and outstanding balances synced with Tally, Zoho Books or your ERP. Buyers see their ledger without asking your accounts team.

Four legs of one relay, about 14 weeks, start to finish.
Each leg is sized by how long it usually takes. Watch the baton go round, or tap a leg to jump there.
The question we hear most:Wholesale on your retail store or a separate portal?
The board turns through each option. Tap one to hold it and read the trade-off.
Your retail and wholesale products overlap and rules are moderate.
One catalogue to maintain, though checkout and navigation must work for two very different buyers.
Trade buyers need quotes, credit, ledgers and complex approvals that retail shoppers never see.
Each audience gets a focused experience, though you maintain two front ends.
Four factors, four corners of your project.
Each corner grows when that factor is on the larger side. The outline is your project's footprint, and the quote follows it.
A compact project. The smallest footprint for your quote.
Mostly compact, with one area that needs more work.
A balanced build. Half the factors on each side.
A larger build. Most areas need extra work and time.
The full footprint. Every factor on the larger side.
Picture a business like yours,in three frames.
A typical situation, not a client story. The line in each frame goes from tangled to straight as the work is done.

Four things that trip a project, and the fix we fit instead.
Each fuse is a mistake we see often. Watch it blow and get replaced, or tap a fuse to read the fix.
Copying the retail checkout for trade buyers
We design for repeat bulk orders with quick forms and reorder lists instead of browsing.
Leaving prices to be managed in two places
We agree one source of truth for prices and sync it so the portal and Tally never disagree.
Launching to every buyer at once
We roll out in batches so early feedback shapes the experience before wider adoption.
Forgetting the sales team
We give salespeople their own access to order for buyers, so the portal supports them rather than bypassing them.
B2B ordering questions,answered plainly.
Search the answers. If yours is missing, ask us on the call.
Cost & timeHow long does a B2B portal take and what affects the cost?
A wholesale section on an existing store takes six to eight weeks. A dedicated portal with credit, approvals and Tally sync takes ten to fourteen. Pricing complexity, credit rules, integration depth and buyer volume drive the price.
Getting startedCan it generate e-invoices and e-way bills?
If e-invoicing applies to your turnover, invoices need an IRN from the government portal, usually generated through your accounting software or a GST suvidha provider. We connect the portal so this happens without retyping. Confirm applicability with your CA.
After launchDoes Shopify support B2B in India?
Shopify's full B2B features, such as company accounts, catalogues and payment terms, are strongest on Shopify Plus. On other plans, apps provide similar features with more limits.
OwnershipWho owns the buyer data and price lists?
You do. All buyer accounts, orders and pricing sit in systems registered to your business.
Getting startedOur buyers are not tech-savvy. Will they use it?
We keep screens simple, support Hindi or regional labels and offer reorder by one tap. Many businesses also let buyers send orders by WhatsApp that land directly in the portal.
Getting startedCan buyers pay online or only on credit?
Both. Buyers can pay by UPI, netbanking or card, or order on credit within their limit. Payment links for overdue invoices can go out on WhatsApp.
Getting startedCan we show live stock to buyers?
Yes, if stock is kept in a system we can read, such as Tally, Zoho Inventory or your ERP. We agree how often stock refreshes.
After launchWhat happens after launch?
We support the buyer rollout and fix issues in the first weeks. A monthly plan then covers new price rules, reports and integration upkeep.
Works well alongside, from the same practice.
Still taking trade orders by phone? We'll move them to a proper portal.
Send us a sample price list and order, and we will show how the portal would handle it.
