Brand identity,explained without jargon.
What is a brand identity?
One idea at a time. Each sheet lays over the last, so the picture builds up. Tap a number to jump.
It is like a uniform and a way of speaking that let people spot your staff in a crowded market.
A brand identity is the set of visual and verbal signals that make your business recognisable.
It includes your logo, colours, typefaces, image style and the way you write.
A brand guide records the rules so anyone making a poster, website or reel keeps them consistent.
Strategy comes first, so the look reflects who you serve and what you stand for.
Picture a business like yours,in three frames.
A typical situation, not a client story. The line in each frame goes from tangled to straight as the work is done.

Heard yourself say this?Count how many fit.
Five things owners tell us before a project like this starts. Every one you recognise adds a tally mark.
Tap the lines you have said this year.
One fits. Worth a short call to see if Brand identity is the right fix.
Two fit. A short call will tell you whether to do this now or later.
Three fit. This is probably worth planning soon.
Four fit. You are losing time to this already.
All five. This page was written for you.
Six parts, all handed over to you.
Your Brand identity work is made of these six parts. The comb lights each one in turn; tap a cell to read it.
Brand foundation
A one-page summary of your audience, positioning, personality and promise. Every design choice afterwards refers back to it.
Logo suite
Primary logo, short mark, single-colour versions and a favicon, supplied as SVG, PDF, PNG and EPS. Each version is tested at small sizes such as a WhatsApp profile picture.
Colour and type system
A palette with codes for screen and print, and typefaces with licences in your name. We note pairings for Indic scripts if you use them.
Tone of voice guide
Words you use and avoid, sample headlines and how to write replies to customers. It keeps your Instagram captions and support emails sounding like one company.
Brand guidelines document
A clear PDF and Figma page showing logo spacing, misuse examples, imagery style and layouts. Printers and agencies can follow it without calling you.
Starter templates
Editable templates for social posts, a letterhead, a business card and a presentation. They are built in Canva or Figma so your team can use them daily.

The question we hear most:Refresh the brand or start fresh?
The board turns through each option. Tap one to hold it and read the trade-off.
Customers already recognise your name and logo, and the problem is dated execution.
You keep recognition you have built over years, though you are limited by the existing mark's shape.
You are changing your name, audience or price position, or the old look actively hurts trust.
You get a clean start, though you must update signage, packaging and listings everywhere at once.
Four legs of one relay, about 6 weeks, start to finish.
Each leg is sized by how long it usually takes. Watch the baton go round, or tap a leg to jump there.
Four things that trip a project, and the fix we fit instead.
Each fuse is a mistake we see often. Watch it blow and get replaced, or tap a fuse to read the fix.
Choosing a logo by looking at it large on a screen
We test every logo at tiny sizes, in one colour and on busy photos before you approve it.
Registering a domain and printing boards before checking the name
We advise a public trademark search on the IP India site and a chat with a trademark attorney before you commit.
Using a free font that only covers English
We pick typefaces with licences and character sets that fit everywhere you plan to use them.
Keeping the master files with the designer
All source files are handed to you and stored in your own cloud drive.
Four factors, four corners of your project.
Each corner grows when that factor is on the larger side. The outline is your project's footprint, and the quote follows it.
A compact project. The smallest footprint for your quote.
Mostly compact, with one area that needs more work.
A balanced build. Half the factors on each side.
A larger build. Most areas need extra work and time.
The full footprint. Every factor on the larger side.
Brand identity questions,answered plainly.
Search the answers. If yours is missing, ask us on the call.
Cost & timeHow long does brand identity work take and what affects cost?
A logo with colours, type and a short guide takes about three weeks. A full identity with voice, templates and packaging takes five to six. Scope, scripts and number of applications drive cost, and the quote lists every file and template you will receive.
OwnershipDo I own the logo and all files?
Yes. Once paid for, copyright in the final designs is assigned to your business in writing. You receive all source files, and any paid font licences are bought in your name.
Getting startedCan you help register the trademark?
We can share files in the formats a trademark application needs. The filing itself should be handled by a trademark attorney, so check with your adviser on classes and searches.
In IndiaCan our logo work in Hindi or a regional script?
Yes. We design matching wordmarks so both versions feel like the same brand. A native reader on your side checks spelling and letterforms before final approval.
Getting startedWill you name our business too?
We can run a naming exercise with shortlists, meaning checks across Indian languages and domain availability. Final legal clearance still needs your adviser.
Getting startedDo you design packaging and signage?
We design the artwork and give your printer or fabricator dielines and colour specs. Production and printing are handled by your vendor, and we can review proofs.
Getting startedHow many logo options will we see?
We show two or three thought-through routes, each with a reason behind it. That gives you a real choice without a pile of half-finished ideas.
After launchCan you update our website to the new brand?
Yes. Our design and build teams can roll the identity onto your website, app and email templates. Many clients do this right after the brand work so everything launches together.
Works well alongside, from the same practice.
